Russia calls for secret talks with US to fight their drones
Director of the Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies, military analyst Ruslan Pukhov, in an interview with the media, called for preventing escalation with the United States over their unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) by holding secret negotiations with the Americans, during which unacceptable steps for Russia’s security would be identified.
“It is extremely difficult to fight American drones that fly in the neutral waters of the Black Sea,” the expert said, noting that the best possible step is a dialogue with the Americans, during which Russia will tell what steps are unacceptable for it.
Pukhov stressed that both countries demonstrate readiness for decisive action against each other, however, according to him, this is not always necessary. He believes that through secret negotiations between the authorities of the two states, a number of unacceptable steps for the security of both Russia and the United States can be identified.
Earlier, the coordinator of strategic communications at the US National Security Council, John Kirby, noted that Washington considers the aviation restrictions imposed by Russia over the Black Sea illegal.
